Unit Description: UVMMC’s Alternative Level of Care (ALC) Pod is located on McClure 6 and functions as a unit within a unit. It currently cares for approximately 10 long-term care patients who are awaiting an appropriate discharge disposition. Patients on this unit present with a wide range of diagnoses, and their care is managed by the geriatric provider team. Candidates for this role must demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills. Long-term care experience is preferred.
