Unit Description:
As a Hematology/Oncology Nurse on our 32-bed inpatient unit, you will provide care for patients with solid tumors and hematologic malignancies at various stages of their cancer journey. Our team administers chemotherapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapies while managing treatment-related symptoms and providing exceptional patient and family education and support.
Working collaboratively with Physicians, LNAs, Oncology Pharmacists, Social Workers, Case Managers, Palliative Care Specialists, Clinical Dietitians, PTs, and RTs, we deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. We encourage professional growth through certifications, conferences, specialty courses, and advancement opportunities through our Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program (CARP).
EDUCATION: Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required. ADN required; BSN preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Greater than one year of RN experience required. Clinical experience requirements may vary by unit.
Per diem nurses must work a minimum of 300 hours per calendar year, including one 8-hour holiday shift. Requirements are prorated based on hire date and may be met across eligible per diem roles at UVMMC.
Incentives: No required call. Per diem shift differentials: $2.50 Days, $4.50 Evenings, $6.00 Nights, $8.00 Weekend Days, $10.50 Weekend Evenings, and $12.00 Weekend Nights.
