UVM Health is excited to expand and launch an array of Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) programs this year, including falls prevention at patient homes, post-discharge care for ongoing chronic conditions and a street medicine program in Burlington, VT.  We are building a team of qualified, compassionate and dedicated Community Paramedics to support this work.

This position exists to provide on-site supervision and support to the UVM Health Network Transport team members at a specific location(s). The team member serving in this role will have a broad range of responsibilities spanning from support of emergency operations to maintenance of day-to-day operations to ensure the provision of high quality and safe patient care. The Supervisor is expected to maintain professional clinical competencies as appropriate to scope of practice to the patient populations being served, functions as the leader of the clinical team. This person is responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe environment for patients and their families, employees, and other customers whom the transport team interacts. Evaluates all aspects of workflow as it relates to customer, patient and team member needs.

Expected to be able to support continuity of shift operations including staffing, supplies, and asset allocation in collaboration with other UVMHN transport team regional site supervisors and the CCS Transport Team Manager.

Education:

  • Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to the Supervisor position, will be required to obtain their Bachelor’s as outlined in the terms of their offer letter.
  • Must hold current licensures, certifications and maintain education requirements as defined within clinical scope of practice to meet requirements of one of the following job descriptions within the UVM Health Network Transport team system: UVMHN Transport RRT, UVMHN Transport Paramedic, UVMHN MIH Community Paramedic UVMHN Transport EMT, UVMHN Transport AEMT, UVMHN NICU-PICU Nurse, UVMHN CC Transport Paramedic, or UVMHN CC Transport Nurse.
  • Active, Unrestricted New York and/or Vermont Driver’s License.

Experience:

  • Greater than five (5) years of field Transport team and or direct patient care experience required.
  • Previous Leadership experience preferred.
