This is a bargaining union position.
Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration for this position if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date. After this period, all applicants will be considered equally.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of a Vascular Interventional Radiologist, vascular technologists perform non-invasive vascular exams in order to assess for vascular disease or disorders. Vascular technologists assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of disorders affecting the vascular system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills Required:
1. Must be hold vascular certification by either the ARDMS or ARRT (VS)
2. Must have a minimum of 5 years ultrasound experience in a hospital setting, excluding training time.
3. Must have minimum of one year experience as a Vascular Technologist.
4. Ability to keep abreast of best practices and advancements in vascular technology.
5. Advanced ability to summarize findings and maintain patient records.
6. Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and family in a professional and compassionate manner.
7. Requires positive and effective communicating skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation.
8. Requires the ability to think and act quickly in order to deliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations.
9. Must maintain a working knowledge of all ultrasound equipment.
10. Must be BLS certified (or obtained within 3 months).
As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
