JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Rehabilitation Therapies provides strategic, operational, financial, and clinical leadership for the Department of Rehabilitation Therapies within a large academic medical center. The Director is responsible for developing an integrated rehabilitation strategy across inpatient, outpatient, acute rehabilitation, and specialty clinical services while advancing exceptional patient outcomes, operational excellence, workforce engagement, education, and research.
This position partners closely with physician leaders, nursing leadership, care management, respiratory therapy, neurosciences, orthopedics, trauma, cancer services, and ambulatory leadership to optimize rehabilitation services throughout the continuum of care.
The Director serves as a key operational leader supporting the organization’s academic mission through innovation, quality improvement, evidence-based practice, clinical education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
EDUCATION
Master’s Degree required. Doctorate preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- 7–10 years progressive rehabilitation leadership
- 5+ years management experience
- Experience managing budgets exceeding $15M
- Experience in an academic medical center or large tertiary hospital
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams
