Every patient room, operating room, emergency department, and intensive care unit depends on reliable electrical systems operating around the clock. As a Licensed Electrician with Facilities Management, you'll help keep the infrastructure that powers one of the region's most critical healthcare facilities safe, secure, and fully operational.

You'll join a team of experienced licensed trades professionals responsible for maintaining the hospital's electrical infrastructure and mission-critical building systems. This is more than a traditional facilities electrician role. From emergency power generation and fire alarm systems to nurse call, pneumatic tube transport, overhead paging, access control, and site security systems, your work directly supports patient care every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the hospital's electrical distribution systems and associated equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility electrical infrastructure.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot emergency power generation and backup electrical systems.
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm, nurse call, overhead paging, pneumatic tube transport, access controls.
  • Install, modify, and repair electrical equipment in accordance with applicable codes, safety standards, and hospital policies.
  • Respond to electrical failures, equipment alarms, and facility emergencies while minimizing disruption to patient care.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other Facilities trades on maintenance projects, renovations, and equipment installations.
  • Document inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and operational testing.
  • Help maintain a safe, reliable, and functional environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Vermont Journeyman Electrician license.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a licensed electrician in commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, or similar environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems and work safely in occupied facilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize competing demands, and respond effectively during emergency situations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred:

  • Vermont Master Electrician License (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience with emergency power systems, fire alarm systems, low-voltage controls, security systems, nurse call, or building infrastructure.
  • Experience working in healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, or other mission-critical facilities.
